Remote Protection and Control Engineer

We are actively hiring for a Remote P&C Engineer to support a team out of Missouri. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Protection and Control systems for substations. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability and safety of our electrical grid and its ability to withstand the power grid.

Responsibilities

• Design and Development: Create detailed protection and control schemes for substations, including relay settings, control logic, and communication protocols.

• System Integration: Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate protection and control systems with existing substation infrastructure.

• Technical Support: Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control systems.

• Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and operation manuals.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to protection and control systems to maintain optimal performance.

• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

Essential Skills

• Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

• Proficiency in Relay Programming, SCADA Systems, and Substation Automation

• Understanding of Electrical Protection Principles, Control Systems, and Communication Protocols

• Excellent Problem-Solving abilities and strong Communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Professional Engineer (PE) license - Preferred

Work Environment

The work environment is fully remote. Must live within the United States. Preference for candidates close to Missouri, or at least in similar Time Zone.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
