About the Position The company is seeking a General Manager to lead the daily operations of the construction and materials division based in Billings, Montana . This is a critical leadership role overseeing the performance and growth of multiple operational units, including civil construction, aggregate production, asphalt sales, and ready-mix concrete. The ideal candidate is an experienced and strategic leader with a deep understanding of the construction and materials industries, excellent financial acumen, and the ability to inspire and manage teams across diverse functions. Key Responsibilities: Lead day-to-day operations across construction, aggregate, asphalt, and ready-mix business units Develop and implement strategic business plans, including financial forecasting and labor planning Oversee project execution to ensure quality, safety, and budget compliance Monitor bidding activity and materials pricing for competitive positioning Partner with safety and environmental teams to ensure full compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, and DNR regulations Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers while identifying new growth opportunities Collaborate with estimators and engineers to assess project selection, pricing, and performance Oversee capital investment, plant and equipment maintenance, and operational readiness Build and maintain an organizational structure that supports long-term success Lead with integrity, vision, and a focus on building strong, engaged teams Travel as required, occasionally on short notice and for extended durations Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field OR 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree Advanced degree preferred Minimum 10 years of industry experience, 15 years preferred At least 5 years in progressive leadership or management roles Proven ability to manage complex operations and diverse teams Strong knowledge of: Civil construction and grading Asphalt paving and sales Aggregate production and installation Ready-mix concrete operations Quality control and materials testing Familiarity with industry-specific software and business systems Strong communication and presentation skills Experience in employee development, training, and performance management Solid grasp of financial planning, estimating, and market analysis Benefits Competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications Excellent benefits , including: Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Life and disability insurance Employee development and training programs A leadership role in a stable, growth-focused company Supportive team culture rooted in values, safety, and quality LI-SK1
