Job Summary

The programmer will continue the development of Computers Unlimited's software system, TIMS, adding new applications, improving existing features, and maintaining a quality product that is error free in a cost‑effective manner. The programmer will be working as part of the Smartphones/Webservices Team. This is an exempt position reporting to the manager of the applicable development group.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Write well‑engineered code, participate in code reviews, and perform unit & preliminary system testing.
  • Maintain existing programs and work on special customer requests, understanding customer's goals, strategies, and potential constraints.
  • Create and maintain program reference documentation and prepare testing instructions for Software Testers.
  • Develop code that is consistent with system standards, secure, easy to use, and well‑integrated into the entire system.
  • Work with software testers to ensure a quality product that is functional, flows logically, and has a user interface that is easy to use and understand.
  • Act as a resource assisting to resolve escalated customer issues and training other personnel.
  • Assist with the successful execution of the annual users group conference. Will attend/participate and may present and/or assist with development of presentations.
  • Meet deadlines and complete scheduled work within budget and allotted time.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related degree that includes programming languages or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in technical or business programming preferred.
  • Web service development and knowledge in Maui or Angular beneficial.

Travel / Working Conditions

This job will be performed in our Billings, Montana office location.
